Chapter 2: The Newcomer: A Zach Goodman Sires

Hope you enjoyed the Toymaker of Bullwide, here is the second part

The Newcomer

I stepped out of my house on a cold December morning. My family had recently moved to Bullwide due to my dad's new job offer. Here, everything is so different from my old life in NYC. The schools are very quiet and old, with rickety furniture. The days are always damp or hot and never humid. Whereas in NYC, everything was always loud and big, with Chaotic schools being too polished for their own good. But here everything just feels too plain and “boring”.

So as I started the walk to my school, I noticed something different that day. Near the big oak tree where I was supposed to turn, I saw a small wooden building with a faded sign. I had never seen this building before, not in the 2 months I have already lived here. Since I was getting late for school, I decided to ignore this strange discovery. I told myself that I would come back later. That Night at dinner, I decided to ask my dad, but all he did was look at me and tell me that I should not waste my time with such curiosity. But I was so intrigued by the fact that I had never seen this building before that I decided to investigate it tomorrow after school.

The next day, instead of turning near the oak tree, I went straight towards the building. I looked inside and saw various items like hammers and screws. But what caught my eye was that a single toy was on the worktable. It was a doll that was very detailed, with each body part being movable. My brain began putting ideas together of what this shop could be until a sharp cough awoke me from my thoughts. I turned to see an old man standing in front of me, he was wearing a striped sweater and brown cargo pants, complete with a cane. He asked in a gruff voice, “What are you doing, boy?” I answered stuttering that I was just trying to figure out what this shop was since I had never seen it before. He gave a sharp laugh and said, “This shop was once a grate toy shop, but alas, now its just a poor shop of nothingness. Whell, then run along, boy, it’s getting late.” I did what I told, but as I walked back home, I told myself that tomorrow I would investigate a little more on this old toy shop. So, the next day I went to the toy shop again, and inside the lights were on. But as I went a little closer, I saw the same old man that I saw yesterday.\

The Toy Maker of Bullwide: A Zach Goodman Sires

Hi welcome, back to The Unseen Realms, I hope you enjoy this story!!!

The Toy Maker of Bullwide

Zach Goodman was his name; to the people of Bulwide, he was just a simple toymaker who stopped making toys long ago. But the thing was, the townspeople didn't know the real reason why. Since most of the population was young, they couldn't see the toymaker in his prime. People would come from far and wide to perchance one of his spatially crafted toys for themselves and their children. Though they were expensive, they lasted long and did various things, so the children played with them often. And yet Goodmen closed his shop; this was because of his brother Jonny Goodmen.
He and Johnny were the best of brothers, when they were they decided that they would open a toy shop together (which was the one that exists today). It was Johnny who discovered the secret of toy making and taught it to his brother. They were often called the toymaking bandits because as soon as you ordered the toy, it would be done in a matter of days. But one night, to the Goodmans' surprise, they got news that their mother had a very severe injury and needed aid from her son. Johnny said that he would go to the country to see her. Zach said he would come with him too, but Jonny decided that Zach would run the shop while he was away. So, for months Zach ran the shop without his brother, but without him by his side business ran a lot slower and soon people stopped coming. Zach waited for the day his brother would return, but that day never came. After receiving the news of their mother's death two months ago, plus people saying that there was no trace of Jonny, Zach decided to close the shop for good. Because a shop without a brother felt like no shop at all.
